In the heart of one of the most charming villages in the Marche region, an old storage space with a vegetable garden is transformed into a welcoming home, deeply rooted in the cultural landscape of Offida. Here, every wall tells a layered story, and the renovation becomes an act of listening and restoration, balancing the recovery of the home’s original soul with the needs of contemporary living. The intervention respected the material identity and spatial character of the building, creating a natural dialogue between history and modernity.
The design process involved careful subtraction to reveal the original architectural features: vaulted brick ceilings, stone basins, wall niches, and arches resurfaced from earlier layers. New finishes (parquet flooring, reclaimed cement tiles, and resin surfaces) were chosen to harmonize with the existing materials, creating a visual and tactile continuity between past and present. The furnishings, too, were conceived as a narrative bridge: timeworn objects, salvaged furniture, and handcrafted details infuse the space with a warm, grounded, and authentic atmosphere. A home that speaks the language of memory while opening to the future with quiet elegance.
